Description
Keep in mind
One pair per aquarium |
---|
This species lives in pairs (male and female), where the female is the biggest. One can typically have only one pair per aquarium, as it is very territorial towards its own kind. Sometimes one can successfully keep one female and several males. |
Hermaphrodite |
---|
This species can change gender, male to female, where normally the female is the bigger. |
Bred in captivity |
---|
This species can be bred in captivity, one can therefore consider asking your local fish store for a captive bred specimen. |
Subgenus: Paramphirion |
---|
Species in this genus are recognized by the saddle-like marking on the body. They are not quite so hardy as most other clownfish and do best with an anemone. Amphiprion polymus can be from orange to dark and even black. It is distuinguished from the others in that they have a white edged tail. Amphiprion sebae is often confused with A. clarkii, but A. sebae lacks these white bands by its tail, instead this band continues along its body up to the dorsal fin. |
